The parish required a specialty church audio system designed to tame challenging acoustics all too familiar to Catholic Churches. Sound engineer and system designer Troy Jennings analyzed the acoustics and collaborated with the pastor, Rev. James J. Ronan, and the parish business manager, James Santosuosso, to discuss the challenges the parish endured with the existing church audio system and to clearly distinguish the priorities for the new system.

The PSNE team then created a church audio system design that would meet the demands of a variety of scenarios that affect sound transmission—including attendance, the spoken word versus hymns and the music ministry, ceremony type, and environmental fluctuations.
The sanctuary highlight of the church audio system: The new professional BOSE® loudspeakers, crafted especially for church environments, provide the professional sound quality the parish needed. Towering 9-foot speakers offer rich, intelligible sound throughout the space. Just 4 inches wide and colored to blend with interior aesthetics they are unobtrusive, yet so effective. They deliver clear, even sound from the altar to the very back pew. We also retrofitted the columns to be used for the new speaker mounts, and repaired the columns where the old speakers hung, thus maintaining the visual integrity of the sanctuary.
Prior to the installation we set up a temporary BOSE loudspeaker system for a weekend “test drive” by the parish. They were thrilled. They enjoyed the clear church audio they wanted and had the assurance that they’d be delighted with the results before the new sound system was purchased and installed.
